Lizzy is an affectionate, sweet, adolescent German Shepherd Dog. She's around a year old (born 1/20/2018). She came into the rescue with her brother, Rocco.

They still act like pups, full of curiosity and MISCHIEF. Like all young GSDs, they get into stuff, explore, and do the crazy things puppies do: especially chew! They need an experienced, patient home that can help them learn what's allowed and what's not.

Lizzie is soft in her initiation for affection. She is affectionate, playful, gentle, kind, tender, and a little bashful. She looks to her brother for leadership and affection, but on her own, she is amazingly sweet and playful. We think that she would like to have another dog in the home.

Lizzy gets along great with the older GSD in the foster home. She also LOVES going to the dog park and socializing with the other dogs. (There are no cats or kids in the foster home, so we have no information on how they do with them.)

She's house-trained and crate-trained. She is learning good leash manners in the foster home. She is already a great jogging buddy, and she would love to be able to continue to get plenty of exercise after adoption.

This terrific dog has needs an adopter capable of providing diligent care to make sure she continues to stay healthy. She came carrying two tick-borne diseases (Babesia and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever), but our excellent vet team caught them before they made her sick. Our rescue took care of treatment to knock those tick diseases out before they could flare up. However, a vet reference is needed to adopt her.
