Meet Nero. If you are looking for a tall, dark, and handsome hero in your life, Nero is your guy.
He's 5 years old, and he's tested negative for heartworms. He's received excellent vet care his whole life (and his former owner's vet has provided us with his records). He's a large, strong dog--an excellent specimen of the breed.
Nero requires an experienced German Shepherd owner who understands the breed. He appears to have some "drive" -- especially strong prey drive. It is important that his adopter understand how to manage, channel, and use this. He respects strong leadership and is wonderfully responsive to both correction and praise. He loves getting good cues on the right thing to do.
Nero's ideal home would be with active adults, or perhaps older (teenage) kids, as an only-dog. He hasn't been socialized well, so he needs a home that will commit to working on that. He's reactive toward other dogs, though he responds very well to correction and can be instructed to ignore other large dogs. He is uncomfortable around young kids. Though he hasn't been aggressive toward them, we want to find him a home without young kids. ABSOLUTELY NO CATS.
